After a stormy week and an overnight downpour, the sun shone down on our neighbors as they celebrated their 99th Annual Gordon Heights Day on Saturday, August 1, 2026. MICA and Scout Troop 433 shared a table at this event. Frank and Gail Bailey welcomed the intrepid Parade Marchers as they arrived at Granny Road Park a little after 10am. Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce President Edna White was on hand along with many other community groups and an array of intriguing, informative and delicious vendors. Gordon Heights Civic President Butch Murray welcomed NYS Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay, NYS Senator Dean Murray, Brookhaven Town Councilman Mike Loguercio and SCPD 6th Precinct Inspector Paul Mamay to the podium. Butchie recognized his planning committee members and gave a special shout out to COPE Officer Casey Hines Berry. Congrats to the organizers on a splendid event. Looking forward to another great year with our friends as they prepare for the Centennial Celebration of their hamlet’s founding in 2027!
