The Change of Zone for the Starbucks at the empty bank at 599 MCR was unanimously passed by the TOB last night! This is a great re-use of an existing, long vacant but still stately brick building. Many thanks to the Crest Group for working to bring a nationally recognized brand to our Main Street in Middle Island. Thanks to all the Birchwood residents and MI civic members who came out to support this application!!
We, the Middle Island Civic Association, believe the strength of a democratic society lies in the citizens’ ability and inclination to participate in the act of governing. We further believe that in unity there is strength, and that the efforts of many may achieve results that cannot be achieved by the individual. We, therefore, encourage the people of Middle Island to participate in the process of government. Through our organization we encourage our representatives to be responsive to the needs of their constituents, and to preserve, protect, and foster the environmental, economic, historical, educational, and cultural amenities of Middle Island.
