Everyone had a great time at National Night Out with Sheriff Erol Toulon at Ridge Fireman’s Park on Tuesday, August 5th. The weather was perfect and the turnout was huge. We especially enjoyed the friendly Tug-of-War competitions between the Sheriff’s staff and various groups of children in attendance — with Sheriff Toulon pulling from the kids’ side!
We, the Middle Island Civic Association, believe the strength of a democratic society lies in the citizens’ ability and inclination to participate in the act of governing. We further believe that in unity there is strength, and that the efforts of many may achieve results that cannot be achieved by the individual. We, therefore, encourage the people of Middle Island to participate in the process of government. Through our organization we encourage our representatives to be responsive to the needs of their constituents, and to preserve, protect, and foster the environmental, economic, historical, educational, and cultural amenities of Middle Island.
