April 17th – Great Brookhaven Clean Up

KeepBrookhavenClean_1

The Middle Island Civic Association is registered to participate in the “Great Brookhaven Clean-Up” event for Saturday, April 17th, beginning at 9:30am. Based on past years experience, we will be joining with about 4,000 other Brookhaven residents who want their communities litter free.

The locations are Woodville Road adjacent to the King Kullen center, and a nearby section of Middle Country Road directly across from the King Kullen center.  Both locations are in need of litter removal, which consists mostly of plastic bags, beverage containers and loose papers.  No “heavy lifting” required.  The locations are safe from traffic hazard, and easy to park by. Should be done in an hour or two.

Jeff Davis is appealing to his neighbors in Coventry Village to pitch in.

The Town will be providing supplies including bags, gloves, T-shirts, and a couple of “pickers.”   They will also remove the filled bags.  I anticipate getting some coffee and bagels from our previous sponsor at “Bagels 101.”

We have had good participation at our past several clean-ups, and hope that we will again.  It is a worthwhile community service, and we all have had fun doing it.

Please confirm your intention to participate so President Talbot can obtain adequate supplies.  And thanks for “Pitching In.”
