School Budget & Bond Vote, BOE Election is Tuesday, May 21st

The Longwood CSD Budget & Bond Vote and BOE Election is this Tuesday, May 21st.

  Polls are open from 7am-9pm.  All Middle Islanders within the 11953 zip code vote at West Middle island Elementary School at 30 Swezey Lane.
 There are several items to be voted on: the annual budget (which is within the tax-cap limit); Bond Proposition 1, which addresses many infrastructure and career program needs across all eight campuses; the establishment of a new Capital Reserve Fund; Bond Prop 2 which will complete air conditioning across the district (contingent upon Prop 1 approval), and the election of three Board of Education members.  Four Longwood residents, incumbents Victoria Molloy and Dan Tomaszewski,  MICA member and MIFD Chief Matt Gropper, and retired Longwood employee Fritz Rensing are running for three open seats of three-year terms.


As reviewed by Superintendent Lance Lohman at our April MICA meeting, both capital projects will qualify for approximately 75% reimbursement through NYSED Building Aid.
