MONDAY, April 18 – FRIDAY, April 22
the Central Pine Barrens Commission and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be conducting prescribed fire operations within the South of Currans Woodland Burn Units (as indicated on the above map).
This forest management practice is being conducted to reduce wildfire risk and increase public safety as well as to advance ecosystem restoration and resiliency to southern pine beetle.
All burns are implemented by prescribed fire professionals to ensure safety.
