Although many places of business are temporarily closed, others have different operating hours, and some have bargain prices!
Starting on Monday, Sterling Bank in Ridge will no longer be having any lobby hours; the drive thru WILL be open. The posted drive thru hours are currently M-Thurs, 9am-4pm and Fri 9am-6pm. Call 631-924-4200 to confirm before you head over.
Our MI Post Office is open, except for two midday hours from noon to 2pm, when cleaning takes place. Access to PO Boxes remains unchanged, M-F, 6am-5:30pm, Sat 6am-3:30pm. Call 631-205-1089 for details. Word has it that Ridge and Yaphank PO’s are open from 12-2, so if you’re out and need to mail something certified, etc, try these locations.
You may have noticed Rt 21 closed southbound from Rt 25 today for construction; this is part of the sidewalk project we talked about at our civic meetings. Local residents do have access, of course, and others are being detoured to Wading River Hollow Rd.
Gas prices have DROPPED! Many are under $2.00 – except of course for Shell and 7Eleven, which are currently the SAME silly price of $2.25.
Stores and pharmacies are doing their best to implement proper social distancing; some have been excellent at limiting number of entrants, creating one way aisles and more. Make a list and spend as little time as possible shopping for essentials.
Town of Brookhaven Parks and beaches are now closed, as are all golf courses, to eliminate too much congregating. Houses of worship are doing great jobs of providing online services.
