The Middle Island Civic Association celebrated 70 years of caring for and about our community on Thursday, December 19 at Longwood Public Library. The evening featured a presentation by LPL local history librarian Melanie Cardone-Leathers, who took us on a trip back in time along Middle Country Road and elsewhere in Longwood of long ago. We even got to see the Alonzo Chappel painting LPL owns. We then enjoyed wonderful refreshments courtesy of Maria Cordaro of Surge-Quantum Rehabilitation Centers. And we ended with an Assembly Line of goody bagging for local homeless outreach in conjunction with Kimberly Alexander of the Gordon Heights Civic. Many thanks to all who came out on a cold night to help out at this busy time of year. God bless us, everyone!  Happy Holidays to all!!!
