Finally, Stop Signs on Wading River Hollow Rd!

Superintendent Losquadro, Councilman Loguercio Announce Traffic Safety Improvements to Wading River Hollow Road

Dan Losquadro Headshot Ridge/Middle Island, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Michael Loguercio have announced traffic safety improvements to be made on Wading River Hollow Road in the Ridge/Middle Island communities.

“Councilman Loguercio and I recently met again to discuss the traffic safety conditions on Wading River Hollow Road,” Superintendent Losquadro said. “We reviewed past traffic studies and incorporated new accident data. As a result, we decided to install four all-way stop signs at the intersection of Niewood Drive and Wading River Hollow Road.”

Superintendent Losquadro continued, “In addition, I’ve directed my Division of Traffic Safety to begin the engineering and design work for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Wading River Hollow Road and Longwood Road. I will include this capital improvement in my 2020 budget.”

The anticipated design and installation of the traffic signal is scheduled for 2020.

Councilman Michael Loguercio said, “Thank you Superintendent Losquadro for working with me to address these matters. I am filing the resolution for the all-way stop signs immediately to be put before my colleagues on the Town Board for adoption. This process is necessary so that the Suffolk County Police Department can legally enforce these new traffic control devices.”

“In addition to the all-way stop installation, I have once again contacted the local police department to request enforcement of the existing speed limit on Wading River Hollow Road,” Councilman Loguercio concluded.
