MICA provided the office of Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo with photos of Rt 25 for this meeting on March 15th, hosted by Assemblyman Joe De Stefano. When Joe polled us on what our priorities are, we told him the crumbling roadways of Rt 25 and the LIE, and he listened! the Our elected officials announced last year that they had gotten it moved from 2021 to 2020. We hope the repaving schedule can be moved up even earlier. Keep calling the DOT and 1-800-POTHOLE, MICAns!
We, the Middle Island Civic Association, believe the strength of a democratic society lies in the citizens’ ability and inclination to participate in the act of governing. We further believe that in unity there is strength, and that the efforts of many may achieve results that cannot be achieved by the individual. We, therefore, encourage the people of Middle Island to participate in the process of government. Through our organization we encourage our representatives to be responsive to the needs of their constituents, and to preserve, protect, and foster the environmental, economic, historical, educational, and cultural amenities of Middle Island.
