The Sixth Annual Great Brookhaven Clean Up will be held this Saturday, May 18 at various locations throughout Brookhaven Town. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven’s Department of Waste Management and Keep America Beautiful, Inc., drew over 5,000 residents last year. It’s part of a national effort to pick up litter, renew parks, and clean miles of roadway, rivers, lakes, and seashore.

The Great Brookhaven Clean Up is an opportunity for people to make a difference in their community. We urge everyone who cares about the environment to join in and help make Brookhaven a cleaner, greener and more beautiful place to live.

Free pickers, gloves and trash bags will be provided for the Great Brookhaven Clean Up. The Department of Waste Management will have roadside crews pick up bags the following Monday, May 20.

MICA will again me cleaning up the Suffolk County parkland across from the King Kullen on Middle Country Road in Middle Island.  Start time is 10:00am.  Wear sturdy shoes and a highly visible color shirt or jacket.  Look for Tom Talbot’s truck and park safely near it.
