Statement From Supervisor Ed Romaine Regarding Brookhaven Town’s Snow Removal Operation

Farmingville, NY – “The Town Highway Department went on the road at 3:00 am this morning and are currently in a sand and salt operation. Approximately 225 Town and contractor trucks equipped with sanders have been dispatched throughout the Town. The Highway Department will switch to a plowing operation as soon as the snow accumulates. The Town is keeping a close watch on the weather forecast and the Highway Department will dispatch additional equipment as conditions warrant. The Town has also been in close contact with the Governor’s Office and NYS DOT regarding additional assets should the storm intensify.”
