Red Cross Opens Mobile Meals Distribution Centers in Mastic, Riverhead and Hauppauge

Farmingville, NY – Acting Town Supervisor Kathleen Walsh has announced that the Red Cross has opened three Mobile Meals Distribution Centers in Suffolk County, including one in Mastic. The centers are open at 11:00 am for lunch and 4:00 pm for dinner. Red Cross Comfort kits will also be made available at each location.

Acting Supervisor Walsh Announces Free Electronic Device Charging at Town Locations

Farmingville, NY – Acting Supervisor Kathleen Walsh announced today that the Town of Brookhaven has opened five electronic device charging stations to aid residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Residents are encouraged to visit one of the Town’s charging locations where there are outlets available to charge personal electronic devices such as cell phones, iPads, laptops and more. The following charging locations are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm:

Extended Hours for Residential Drop-Off of Storm Related Debris at Town Landfill and Manorville Composting Site

Farmingville, NY – The Town Landfill and Manorville Composting Site will be open this Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for residential drop off of storm related brush and tree debris.

• The Town will waive the fee for residential storm related brush and tree debris at both the Manorville Composting Site and Landfill.

• The Town will not waive the fee for materials transported in commercial vehicles.

The Landfill is located at 350 Horseblock Road in Yaphank. Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Manorville Composting Site is located at the end of Papermill Road in Manorville and normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
