A message from Councilwoman Connie Kepert regarding an alternative process to determine the formation of a Carmans River plan:

My colleagues and I on the Town Board are seeking public input into
the creation a new Carmans River Plan which divides the original plan
into 3 components: preservation of the river, extinction of Pine
Barrens credits, and the provision of next generation housing. It is
very important to us that this effort begin by hearing from members of
the community.
In order to ascertain proper public participation, I will host a
Council District 4 meeting on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 7:00pm in the
Yaphank Fire Department’s meeting room located at 451 Main Street
Yaphank.
In addition to the Council District 4 meeting, the Town will also be
hosting two town-wide community meetings which will be held on
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 6:00 pm and Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the
Brookhaven Town Hall Auditorium.
