I.  Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited
II.  May’s meeting minutes were read and approved
III.  Treasurer’s Report as of May 31, 2011 – Savings $3,207.80; Checking $216.97
IV.  Unfinished Business –
Ira Siegel was asked to run Birchwood Civic Association
Memorial Day ceremony at Bartlett, Civil War story of “Two Brothers from MI” featured
Good turnout for Green Library – Charettes of June 10-11; next one is Sat. July 16; still working on Community Crossroads signage project, Caithness funds for this need to be used by end of 2011
MIFD substation – July/August completion
Pet Cemetery – BZA attended by Tom; monitoring progress of re-building after fire
DRSs – Artist Lake Plaza, coz approved by TOB late Tuesday, PBC decision July 20, The Meadows at Yaphank – June 15 PBC hearing
New TOB graffiti law approved on May 25 – residents should call 451-TOWN to report any graffiti seen

New Business –
Boy Scout Troop 433 – 51st Eagle Scout, Marc Weilandics, Court of Honor on 6/18 at MIFD –
Summer Sundays at Brookhaven National Lab – August 7 – Balloon Launch
Possible grant from Leg. Sarah Anker to Longwood Alliance to use for new signage
Bartlett Butterfly Garden weeded by MICAns Margaret Malloy and Gail Lynch-Bailey – re-vegetation plan to be developed with TOB Parks Dept.
Funds for 7th war veterans monument secured

Presentation – Ms. Beth Kean-Waddell Vice President and General manager of Recycle Bank – Presented and discussed proposed Brookhaven town residents to recycle .. Info on bethw@recyclebank.com
