On Thursday, October 23, 2009, the Longwood Board of Education recognized all civic associations operating within the Longwood Central School District. Each civic received a beautiful, custom-designed and framed certificate featuring the photograph of an historic school building in that civic’s hamlet. MICA’s certificate shows the Middle Island Schoolhouse, which currently stands at Bartlett Pond Park. Civic board members each received a pin and tee shirt celebratingthe 50th Anniversary of the Longwood Central School District.
