MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 20, 2011 MICA MEETING – LONGWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY

I.  Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
II.  September 15th 2011 minutes were read and approved with corrections made.
III.  Treasurer’s Report read as of September – Savings, $2,710.98 and Checking $73.49
IV. Unfinished Business –
-Bartlett Pond Park:  TOB working on re-vegetation consent order, plan due 11/9 to PBC, new sign installed via grant from Sarah Anker to Alliance
-K-mart developer is in the process of identifying potential tenants in order to prepare the site plan for submittal to the Town
-Community Crossroads signage project:  New sign to be installed shortly, planting bed, solar lights and native plants to follow
-MIFD Station is “open for business” – Open House event held on Sat. October 1st.  Pasta fundraiser to be held 11/19 for 1st responder Laura Meisenzahl – 5 pm or 8 pm $10 tickets
-Farewell to North Shore Sun – No internet access either
-Proposed By-laws amendment to provide for MICA Business Membership – Voted by all dues paying members – in favor

New Business –
-Mike’s Sports Bar planning on re-opening as Johnny O’s
-Paper shredding opportunity for businesses and residents 10/21 and 22nd
-Coram UA Property – In progress
-Benjamin Tallmadge Historic Trail Hike and new signage
-Coram Civic – Meet the Candidates Monday October 24
-Veterans Day event at Bartlett Park – 11/11 at 11:00 a.m.
