Monthly Meeting Notice
Our next MICA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 in the first floor Clemens Room of our beautiful LONGWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY at 800 Middle Country Road at 7:00PM. Please join us. Bring a neighbor.
At 7:05pm, we will hear about Sam Glass’ updated plans for the market-rate Scalamander Cove Apartments (formerly known as Middle Island Town Homes) proposed for the triangle between Rt 21 and Middle Island Road, north of the wetland once known as Pfeiffer’s Pond. This parcel is part of the trifecta of properties for a walkable hamlet plan resulting from the 2002 Visioning charette.
Meet the Candidates Night will begin at 7:30pm. We will employ the user-friendly forum style introduced by our late past president, Tom Talbot, Each candidate will be given a set number of minutes to explain why they are best qualified for the office they seek, and take questions if time allows. Candidates for NYS Senate District 1, NYS Assembly Districts 2 & 3, and US Congressional District 1 have been invited.
