Anti-Bullying Workshop Announced for Longwood Community

MIDDLE ISLAND – Bullying, cyberbullying and youth depression with be the focus of an intense parent workshop held at Longwood Junior High School on Tues., Oct. 11 from 7 – 8:30 PM.

The program is open to all parents in the Longwood community, but is not appropriate for children. Parents are asked to not to bring children.

The focus of the workshop will be to empower parents with the strategies to take preventive actions with their own children. Students at the Junior High School will be participating in workshops at the school during the day that are specifically geared for their age group.

John Halligan, whose son died by suicide at the age of 13 after being the target of on-line bullying, will present his story and share lessons learned too late for his family.

The program is being sponsored by the Longwood Council of PTA’s.
