I.\u00a0 The meeting was Called to Order at 7:10 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was\u00a0 recited<\/p>\n
II.\u00a0 The April meeting minutes were read and approved as written.<\/p>\n
III.\u00a0 Treasurer\u2019s Report:\u00a0 $2,192.90 in Savings, $550.88 in checking.<\/p>\n
IV.\u00a0 President\u2019s Report\/Unfinished Business:
\nOakcrest Property – Resident\u2019s asked for MICA\u2019s assistance
\nK-Mart Property – Breslin has plan in place – Was presented to Town – Positive step forward
\nPicketing in front of MI post office re: President Obama impeachment\u00a0 – Freedom of\u00a0 speech
\nBartlett Park – June 19th Ceremony – 1st Vice President Gail Lynch-Bailey spoke to Pine Barrens
\nCommission – Had Hardship Waiver removed – Kudos to Gail
\nInformal ceremony for all those interested on Memorial Day at 11:00 am
\nMICA at Longwood Day at the High School – only Civic Association attending
\nMICA Website back and working thanks to Larry Mazza\u2019s son
\nReported School Vote passed, reserve fund passed, bus route defeated
\nBen\u2019s Paint situation addressed
\nGreat American Cleanup – Certificate of Appreciation given out to all who participated
\nGreat American Planting – Planting at Bartlett Park
\nMICA sign at Library discussed
\nMay 27th – Carmans River Conference
\nScholarship Fund – Candidates have to be community service-minded
\nDumpsters in back of Compare Foods and also in rear of Friendly\u2019s addressed –
\nPresident Talbot called Maggio and Winter Brothers to remove them – Minimal progress –
\nTown promised surveillance
\nBoy Scout Ceremony on June 13th at 2:00\u00a0 Middle Island FD to show appreciation<\/p>\n
V.\u00a0 Presentation:\u00a0 Longwood Library – Speaker – David Clemmons, Director
\nSlide presentation of library from inception to present – Discussed how library is
\nenvironmentally conscious — now with solar array on roof and plans to replace present lights
\nwith LED lights<\/p>\n
