The meeting was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Called to Order<\/span> at 7:04 p.m. &amp; the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pledge of Allegiance<\/span> was recited.<\/p>\n<p>II. The March meeting <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">minutes<\/span> were read and approved as written.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>III. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/span>: $3192.55 in savings; $564.88 in checking, from report e-mailed by Treasurer L. Mazza<\/p>\n<p>IV. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">President\u2019s Report\/Unfinished Business:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ben\u2019s Paints \u2013activity there today, equipment being removed; TOB planning board is next stop<\/li>\n<li>Lucky\u2019s Used Car Lot \u2013 bumpers cannot be even w\/curb, must be 10-15 feet back from road edge<\/li>\n<li>MICA Scholarships- Tom contacted HS asst principal re MI nominees, must have community service to qualify<\/li>\n<li>MICA\u2019s Walking Tour of new Library property \u2013 Wed, April 21, 5:30pm, about 45 min long, e-mail reminder<\/li>\n<li>#2 Creekside Drive \u2013 still \u201cnuthin\u2019\u201d done, despite Tom\u2019s meeting w\/WM and Denise\u2019s many calls; \u00a0Maggio is owner of property and bigtime TOB carter \u2013 major safety and quality of life concerns need further addressing!<\/li>\n<li>Girl Scout Gold Award Ceremony on Thurs, April 29, 7:30pm at Longwood Estate -MICA will recognize 3 young ladies for their achievements and their construction of a butterfly garden at the estate<\/li>\n<li>Library Vote on April 14 \u2013 budget approved!<\/li>\n<li>Lions Club will add their sign to large MI sign at Bartlett Pond Park.\u00a0 Lions President Ira Brickman gave a brief history of our local Lions Club and its many good works. Their 3<sup>rd<\/sup> annual Chinese auction on May 7 at Old Coram FH will fund Marinello Scholarship, assist two families battling cancer, help flood &amp; fire victims via SC Red Cross, and fund canine companions for independence. Doors open at 6:30 and the 240 seats always sell out!<\/li>\n<li>Longwood Golf Outing this spring to benefit students battling terminal illness \u2013 details to follow<\/li>\n<li>Signs promoting MICA meetings, ala Coram Civic, are being priced; Lea Van Lane suggested use of LPL easels<\/li>\n<li>Solar Panels at LPL now operational; need to let public know about good energy practices here<\/li>\n<li>MIFD Big Bucks Drawing coming this May, only 300 tickets will be sold, bbq on drawing date<\/li>\n<li>TOB presents \u201cBlight to Light\u201d film Mon, Apr 26 at SUNY SB, 9:30 am<\/li>\n<li> Signage and Planting project on Library corner \u2013 Gail &amp; Tom pursuing w\/LPL trustees via Caithness funds<\/li>\n<li>Peter Pan musical production at Longwood HS this weekend \u2013 free and superb!<\/li>\n<li>Great Brookhaven Cleanup this Saturday, April 17, at 9:30am, opp. King Kullen \u2013sign-up sheet circulated<\/li>\n<li>Blood Drive at MIFD\u00a0 this Sat, 10am \u2013 3pm at\u00a0 main house , Rt 25 &amp; Arnold Drive \u2013walk-ins welcome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>V. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Presentation<\/span>: The \u201cMeadows at Yaphank\u201d by Brian Ferruggiari of AVR Realty Co. \u2013 the newest plan for the old Parr Meadows\/ Willy World sites on the northwest corner of the LIE and Wm Floyd Pkwy now calls for 850 multi-family residential units on the two northern quadrants, 550,000 sq. feet of office space on the sw quadrant, and retail use in the se section, including one big box, a grocery store, and a hotel (if development warrants!) plus public amenities of ball fields for LYSA use and a nature trail connecting this CGA property to the core to the west. \u00a0Deemed tax positive by LIA economist Pearl Kamer, this project of regional significance would use AVR\u2019s existing sewage treatment plant to the north which will be re-habbed to use solar power.\u00a0 Many more meetings, revisions and hearings to come.<\/p>\n<p>VI. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Annual Election<\/span>: President Talbot distributed ballots to eligible voters as identified by Membership Secretary Margaret Malloy, with the following results: President: Tom Talbot; First Vice President: Gail Lynch-Bailey; Second Vice President: Betsey Martinez; Treasurer: Larry Mazza; Recording\/Corresponding Secretary: Barbara Shirreffs; Membership Secretary: Margaret Malloy.<\/p>\n<p>VII.
