The ability to dispose of drugs in a safe manner <strong>is especially important on Long Island, <\/strong>where <em>unused medications have the potential to seep into the surrounding ocean, bays, estuaries, and also the ground, contaminating our drinking water. <\/em>This emerging issue is a threat to public health, wildlife, and our natural environment.
