{"id":2369,"date":"2016-03-10T16:40:45","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T16:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/s453969799.onlinehome.us\/mica\/?p=2369"},"modified":"2016-03-10T16:40:45","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T16:40:45","slug":"two-important-police-precinct-community-meetings-in-middle-island-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/s453969799.onlinehome.us\/mica\/?p=2369","title":{"rendered":"Two Important Police Precinct Community Meetings in Middle Island this Month!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As some of you know, Middle Island is split between two SCPDs \u2013 the 6<sup>th<\/sup> and the 7<sup>th<\/sup>, with Rt21 the dividing line between them.<\/p>\n<p>This month Middle Islanders and the greater Longwood Community have two opportunities to learn more from our important partners in the Suffolk County Police Department via their monthly Community Meetings. \u00a0And both meetings are taking place right in Middle island!<\/p>\n<p>The first is at our regular monthly MI Civic meeting on Thursday, March 17 at 7pm at the Longwood Public Library. We will be hosting the SCPD\u2019s 7<sup>th<\/sup> Precinct Community Meeting that night.\u00a0 Inspector Gerry McCarthy and his COPE officers will provide updates, crime stats, arrest figures and trends for the entire 7<sup>th<\/sup> Precinct over the last month.\u00a0 Please join us at LPL at 800 Middle Country Road \u2013 we will also celebrate St Patrick\u2019s Day and have some civic updates after the SCPD concludes their outreach.<\/p>\n<p>The second is the SCPD\u2019s 6<sup>th<\/sup> Precinct Community meeting which will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 7pm at the Middle Island Fire Department.\u00a0 Please join Inspector William Murphy, COPE Officers Will Gibaldi and Todd Bradshaw, and reps from MICA and the MIFD.\u00a0 We will meet upstairs in the second floor ballroom of the HQ building located at Arnold Drive and MCR.\u00a0 Park in the far north east lot and use the center door located on Arnold Drive. \u00a0Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p>These meetings are good opportunities to share your concerns and observations with local law enforcement officials.\u00a0 You may also speak confidentially with an officer if you wish.\u00a0 The police really do value our input and they do act on much of the information we share with them.<\/p>\n<p>Hope to see many of you at one of these two meetings!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As some of you know, Middle Island is split between two SCPDs \u2013 the 6th and the 7th, with Rt21 the dividing line between them.
