The meeting was Called to Order at 7:07pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.<\/p>\n<p>2. Reading of Minutes \u2013approved as written<\/p>\n<p>3. Treasurer\u2019s Report: thru 11\/30\/12 &#8211; $2216.64 in Savings; $115.40 in Checking<\/p>\n<p>4. Correspondence \u2013 \u201cThank You\u201d from Blessings R Us &amp; St. Cuthbert\u2019s food pantries<\/p>\n<p>5. Reports of Committees &amp; Officers<\/p>\n<p>6. Unfinished Business<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bartlett Pond Park: Tree lighting plans for 2013; community garden committee meeting in 2013; Ray Sexton will provide a wreath at Korean monument, asked about lighting historic schoolhouse<\/li>\n<li>Rails-to-Trails meeting 11\/28 \u2013 L. Mazza discussed RP residents opposition, gave example of good experience at Setauket; multi-phase plan may help; hate to lose funding; S. Anker follow up meeting<\/li>\n<li>Food Drive recap \u2013 fabulous response at King Kullen, two vans worth donated locally<\/li>\n<li>MICA Holiday donations to local charities: thanks to M. Malloy, Betsy Martinez, Robert Schelgel &amp; all who donated; new thrift shop owners donated gift certificate<\/li>\n<li>Much work re Hurricane Sandy \u2013 meet weekends at St Andrew\u2019s, 250 Neighborhood Rd, Mastic Beach<\/li>\n<li>Longwood Road &#8220;Adopt-a-Highway&#8221; status \u2013 Tom will see if Just Kids is still active at that site<\/li>\n<li>Please \u201cLike\u201d MICA on Facebook \u2013 goal of 30 likes has finally been achieved!<\/li>\n<li>MIFD Commissioner Election \u2013 MICAns served as election officials; will donate fees to MICA<\/li>\n<li>Please continue to clip Box Tops for Education &amp; Campbells Soup labels for donation to WMI PTA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>7. New Business<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Car Storage at former      Lustgarten site \u2013 STOPPED! Tip from Mike Nied led to full investigation by      TOB<\/li>\n<li>Litter across Rte 25 from King      Kullen \u2013 removed after call by Tom; still want bus stop stop bench there<\/li>\n<li>Graffiti on no-gas gas station      \u2013 also removed after call by Tom \u2013 a Christmas miracle?<\/li>\n<li>Veterans Place in Yaphank      \u00a0Open House &amp; Holiday Party \u2013 Fri, 12\/21, 2:30-5:30pm<\/li>\n<li>MICA testified at Next      Generation Housing hearing \u2013 ideal for MCR\/ Kogel site; Dan T suggestion      that a YMCA would be ideal for Kogel site \u2013 need info from Patchogue      village<\/li>\n<li>TOB Public Hearings Extended to      Jan 22 for code amendments; info session on 1\/7, 2pm at Town Hall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Highway Superintendent Election in March 2013 \u2013 candidates TBA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8. Special Presentation\/Guest Speaker \u2013 Town Councilwoman Connie Kepert \u2013 Connie spoke on a wide range of topics including: progress at Kmart, Toyota expansion\/PC Richards closing, Redistricting, Artist Lake invasives remediation, single family housing near Twin Ponds, Next Generation housing code, Carmans River Overlay District and watershed protection, new walking trail, irrigation and community garden at Bartlett Pond Park<\/p>\n<p>9.
