Food Drive at King Kullen This Sunday<\/abbr><\/h1>\n

The Middle Island Civic Association will conduct a FOOD DRIVE this Sunday, December 2nd,\u00a0 from 10:00 am \u2013 3:00pm at the Middle Island King Kullen on Middle Country Road.\u00a0 We will distribute fliers to interested shoppers as they enter the store, and then collect any donated items as they leave.\u00a0 Volunteers are needed and welcome.\u00a0 Dress warmly as we will be outside for much of the time.\u00a0 No one will need to stay for all five hours if we have enough coverage. If you\u2019re able to volunteer for the Food\u00a0 Drive on Sunday, or the delivering later, please contact\u00a0 Tom at 924-5793\u00a0 or email Tom_Talbot@hotmail.com \u00a0 or\u00a0 Gail at 732-4529 or e-mail Gailybaily@aol.com<\/a><\/p>\n

During the Holiday Season there is a huge drain on the resources of our local food pantries. Please look into your heart and, if you\u2019re able, take the time to buy a few extra items.\u00a0 Drop them off outside the entrance to the store.\u00a0 THANK YOU for your generosity, and thanks also to KING KULLEN for allowing us to collect here!<\/em><\/p>\n

Some examples of NON-PERISHABLE food items needed:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCanned Meats
\nBaby Foods, Diapers. Wipes
\nCanned Fish (tuna, etc.)
\nPeanut Butter & Jelly
\nCereals & Breakfast Bars

Toilet Paper\/Facial Tissue<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Soups

\nSauces & Gravy
\nPasta & Macaroni
\nCanned or Box Juices
\nCoffee & Tea
\nSugar & Flour<\/strong> Rice & Stuffing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bar Soap, Small Shampoo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Civic Association Volunteers will deliver all donations to local food pantries in the Middle Island and Longwood areas. MICA meets monthly at 7:00pm every 3rd Thursday at the Longwood Public Library.<\/p>\n
